Good to know
PNG is lossless, but converting from JPG cannot recover the detail JPG already discarded — you get a clean, non-degrading copy, not a sharper image. The PNG will usually be several times larger than the JPG. Convert to PNG for editing or transparency; keep JPG for the smallest photo files.
