Changelog

What we've actually shipped, newest first.

Deeper content, structured data, and published company details

  • Rewrote the title and description of every tool page so each one targets a single, clear search intent.
  • Expanded all seven category hubs (PDF, image, document, video, audio, AI, archive) into full landing pages with use cases and FAQs.
  • Added "Best for" use cases and an honest limitations note to the ten most-used tools.
  • Published seven new guides, including a technical explainer on how in-browser conversion actually works.
  • Added four new comparison pages: FreeConvert, iLovePDF, Smallpdf, and Adobe Acrobat online.
  • New Security & Privacy Architecture page covering data handling, deletion, limitations, and how we make money.
  • Published our legal entity and registered address on the Privacy and Terms pages, in every language.
  • Added HowTo and FAQ structured data, and long-lived caching so the WebAssembly engines download only once.

Rebrand to File Transmute, translations, and a faster first load

  • Rebranded from QuickConvert to File Transmute, with a new logo.
  • Full Spanish, French, and German translations across the site.
  • Route-based code splitting — the initial download is roughly half what it was.
  • Admin dashboard now shows per-user credit balances and full credit history.
  • Streaming uploads for the server-based conversions, so large files no longer buffer in memory.
  • Free accounts get a daily cap on server conversions; in-browser tools remain unlimited.

Accounts, billing, and security hardening

  • Added the Pricing, Privacy, and Terms pages.
  • Added email and Google sign-in.
  • Security fixes: closed an IDOR on conversion jobs, blocked SSRF in outbound webhooks, and removed an insecure JWT default.
  • Added security headers (HSTS, CSP frame-ancestors, COOP, and more).
