This conversion runs on the File Converts server, and that is a deliberate choice rather than a shortcut. Rendering a deck faithfully means resolving fonts, master slides, embedded charts, SmartArt and speaker layouts exactly as Office does, which needs a real Office-compatible layout engine (LibreOffice, or Office itself on Windows). No browser library reproduces that reliably, and we would rather run it properly than hand you an approximation.
Your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection, converted, made available to download, and then deleted. Uploads are capped at 200 MB (100 MB without an account). Speaker notes are not included in the PDF — the output is the slides as an audience sees them. Animations and transitions flatten to their final state, which is what printing a deck has always done.
