CR3 is Canon's newer RAW format, introduced with the EOS R mirrorless system and recent EOS / PowerShot models. It replaces the older CR2 with more efficient compression, but it's just as locked-down: outside Canon's software and a few editors, a CR3 won't open or upload to most sites. Converting CR3 to JPG turns it into a file anything can display.
The decode runs entirely in your browser on your own device, with the camera's embedded preview as a reliable fallback — nothing is uploaded, and there's no sign-up or daily limit. If your photos came from an older Canon DSLR they'll be CR2 files instead (use CR2 to JPG), and for a folder that mixes formats the RAW to JPG tool handles every brand together.
