ARW is Sony's RAW format, written by Alpha mirrorless and DSLR cameras — the a7, a9, a1, and a6000-series bodies all save ARW. It preserves the unprocessed sensor data photographers rely on for editing, but it's not a format you can share directly: most websites and phones can't render an ARW at all. Converting ARW to JPG fixes that in one step.
Decoding happens on your own device with a WebAssembly engine, falling back to Sony's embedded preview when needed — your photos are never uploaded, there's no watermark, and it runs offline once loaded. For batches that mix Sony files with other brands, the RAW to JPG tool accepts everything at once; for Nikon shooters the NEF to JPG converter is the matching tool.
