File Transmute renders the first artboard of a PDF-compatible .ai file (Illustrator 9 and later — the default) to a crisp PNG using the same engine that powers our PDF tools. It all happens on your device, so your artwork is never uploaded. Legacy pure-PostScript .ai and .eps files need Ghostscript and aren't supported in the browser.
