Conversions run entirely in your browser. Turn off your Wi-Fi and try it — it still works. Nothing leaves this device.

Page numbers are usually added late, when a document that started as separate files has been merged and a reader (or a court, or a submissions portal) needs to reference specific pages.

The tool stamps a real text object onto each page using pdf-lib, so the numbers are selectable and searchable rather than baked into an image, and the rest of the page is untouched — no re-rendering, no recompression. You choose position and starting number, which matters when a cover page should not count as page one, or when the document continues a sequence from another file.

Everything happens in your browser, so the PDF is never uploaded. If a page already carries numbers from its original layout, this adds a second set rather than replacing them — remove or crop the old ones first if that would be confusing.

Best for

  • Numbering a report, contract, or thesis before submitting or printing
  • Adding page references so a document is easy to cite and navigate
  • Preparing a multi-page PDF for professional or legal use

Good to know

Adds page numbers to a PDF and saves a new copy — all on your device, nothing uploaded. You choose where the numbers sit (e.g. bottom-centre); it stamps numbers onto the existing pages without altering their content. Your original file stays untouched.
